You are here

Last week we came to see you because our baby was in breech position. We used the moxa therapy for a week and today we had an appointment in the hospital to try and turn the baby externally. Luckily that wasn’t necessary anymore because thanks to the treatment the baby had turned itself. We are very happy and relieved.

The gynaecologists in the hospital were having a meeting a few weeks ago and one of the gynaecologists mentioned that yet another woman had started the moxa therapy (that was me) and that they should maybe consider this treatment more seriously. The person who saw us today was very pleased that the therapy had been successful and will discuss this result in the next meeting. Hopefully they will become less cynical about the treatment. Thanks very much for your help.

Today we had our long expected scan in the hospital. It was only a few weeks since the last one but for us it seemed like a long time. We had finished the 2 weeks of moxa therapy last Friday. Today we received the good news that our little one is indeed positioned head down. The gynaecologist thought of course that it was a normal turn. I do believe the moxa therapy has worked though. We started straight away in my 33rd week and after 3 days I has a very unpleasant feeling at night. I really felt the baby turn around. It could be that the baby did this on its own accord but because it hadn’t been in the right position I believe in the moxa therapy has done the trick. I am very grateful that you created this website and hope that a lot of women will persist and start with this easy treatment. Hopefully the baby will stay in this position but I feel quite convinced it will.
I wish you a lot of success with all the pregnant women who ask for your help. Thanks again, also for your encouragement. Best wishes from a very happy daddy and mummy.

Was it the moxa therapy or did our baby turn on its own? In any case it had turned last Monday! It was in the ‘wrong’ position for 5 weeks. We only performed the moxa therapy 5 times. The night before the good news, my wife experienced increased movements from the baby, maybe it had turned then?! Anyway, we are very pleased!

Thank you very much for sending us the DVD. It was very clear. We have followed the instructions and…with result. After a week of treatment we saw the midwife again and the baby had turned. We discontinued the moxa therapy following her advice.

The science

At this moment, the most common treatment for a baby in breech presentation is an external turn. The gynaecologist will try to turn the baby externally, by hand. About 80% of the women with a baby in breech presentation will ultimately have a caesarean operation. They would rather experience a natural delivery.
